Just a small post to explain my thinking here in terms of composition: follow the lines. There’s no real light to speak of, I like the contrast from dark to light but your eyes are directed by the leading lines of the stair rails, with the commuter as the anchor of the picture. Black and white cut down on the distraction of the architecture or 60’s colour skims. //
Juste un petit mot pour expliquer ma réflexion en termes de composition : suivez les lignes ici. Il n’y a pas vraiment de lumière à proprement parler, j’aime le contraste entre l’obscurité et la lumière, mais les yeux sont dirigés par les lignes directrices des rampes d’escalier, avec l’homme comme point d’ancrage de l’image. Le noir et blanc évite la distraction de l’architecture ou des couleurs des années 60.
