The workflow

This one is all about the silhouettes. I exposed for the highlight of the glass artwork behind the young men at the Place des Arts metro station, and frankly, there wasn’t much to do. One of those « do it right in camera rather than in post » pictures. I cropped it 8x10 per usual. And the only decision to make was the conversion to black and white, which is my default. I thought the colours were too distracting and the monochrome more defining and gives you a sense of timelessness. I made sure that the blacks were intense and contrasty enough. //

Celle-ci est entièrement consacrée aux silhouettes. J'ai exposé pour mettre en valeur l'œuvre d’art de verre derrière les jeunes hommes à la station de métro Place des Arts, et franchement, il n'y avait pas grand-chose à faire par la suite. C'est l'une de ces photos où isi on fait bien les choses à la prise de vue peu de changement sont a faire en édition. Je l'ai recadrée en 8x10 comme d'habitude. Et la seule décision à prendre était la conversion en noir et blanc, qui souvent est mon choix par défaut. Je trouvais que les couleurs étaient trop distrayantes et que le monochrome était plus intense et donnait une impression de pérennité. J'ai veillé à ce que le noir soit assez contrasté.

Another reflection picture, but thanks to the gentleman wearing the dark winter jacket, it becomes a three dimensions picture, the inside, outside and the reflection of it. //

Une auto photo reflective mais avec l’aide du monsieur habillé en sombre, cela nous donne une photo captant une troisième dimension: la rue, sa réflection et l’homme à l’intérieur.
